2010 Emerging Dynasty Prospects
Coming out of Abilene Christian in 2009, the knock against Bernard Scott was character issues.  The Bengals (of course) took a shot on him, and now with a season under his belt, B. Scott looks to have a legit skill set (and attitude) to excel at the NFL level.

Why we want Bernard Scott on our Dynasty Roster: Plain and simple, Scott is a playmaker.  Generally limited to return duty in his rookie season, he used his only 20+ carry game to rush for 119 yards at 5.7 a pop (provided it was vs. a poor Oakland D).  He also added three receptions (32 yards) in that game to further display his versatility.  He followed that impressive stat line with an 18 carry 87 yard performance.  A small sample size, yes, however his 2010 preseason has his EDP value on the rise.

What to Expect:  Scott is still the backup to Cedric Benson (and rightly so).  Scott is however one of the top handcuff's in the league and could be a starter on most teams in the NFL.  He came out of a small school, so sitting for a season or two waiting for his chance while he learns proper blitz pickup is exactly what Scott needs.  Benson is coming off his first big time heavy workload -301 carries in 2010 - and missed some games late last year indicating he may not have what it takes to endure a full schedule.  Look for Bernard Scott to become more heavily involved in the offense as the season progresses.  Land him now if you can while his value is still low.

----------

Zach Miller has been flying under the radar for the first 3 seasons of his NFL career.  He finally has a competent QB throwing him the football, and they Miller hype train is picking up steam.  He is primed for a legitmate breakout in 2010 following consistent increase in statistical performance three straight seasons.

Why we want Zach Miller on our Dynasty Roster:  At only 24 years old,  Miller is entering his prime at a very young age for a Tight End.  As we said before his consistent improvement for three straight years and the addition of Jason Campbell at the QB helm equals  Dynasty Gold.  A youthful and unproven receiving corps in Oakland, puts Miller in the immediate drivers steat to work as the #1 receiving option in Oakland.  A protoypical 6-5 255lbs, Miller's role will serve as a large WR rather than an in-line blocker and could potentially see Top-3 target totals for TE's in 2010.

What to Expect:
Grab him now before it's too late.  His value is as low as it will ever be and you can expect Jason Campbell to look his way often in 2010.  Miller's situation is that where he will see enough targets that he could jump to Top-5 fantasy numbers for TE's by the end of 2010 and not look back for the next 10-12 years.

Vince Young was an intriguing Dynasty Prospect as a rookie coming out of Texas.  He has since put his Dynasty owners through a roller coaster of emotion and eventually a loss of all confidence in his ability to Beast out fantasy production.

Why we want Vince Young on our Dynasty Roster:
It looks as though VY has finally gotten his act together.  So highly regarded coming out of college, it seemed he may have had a sense of entitlement, not to mention some personal issues that were limiting his growth.  Those owners that have stuck by him can now reap the rewards of a versatile QB on a team with some very nice young receiving talent, not to mention one of the top RB's in the game.

What to expect:
Will VY ever become a perennial Top-10 fantasy QB?  No.  But he has a skill set that makes him quite attractive to the Dynasty player looking to build QB depth at a reasonable price.  What VY has is the ability to piece together the occasional  monster game both with his arm and with his feet.  You clearly do not want him as your every week QB1 because of a lack of consistency, but he does have the ability to win you fantasy games should you ever need to call on him as a short-term starter.  2010 will be his 5th season in the league (actually more like 4 with a "lost" 2008), and he should be just starting to come into his own as a QB.  As the talent around him continues to flourish, look for VY to earn some cred. as a legit fantasy talent at the NFL level.

It's hard to imagine having more than one Oakland Raider on this list, however with new Quarterback Jason Campbell in town, Louis Murphy has an element of intrigue.

Why we want Louis Murphy on our Dynasty Roster:
Did you see the down the field block Murphy made in 2009 that led to one of the few Oakland Raider touchdowns last year?  Well if you missed it, it showed his speed, athleticism, and most importantly desire.  The latter was lacking in Oakland, and as a result Murphy stands in high regard with the team.  An extremely fast 6-3, 205 lbs, Murphy steps into a starting role as Chaz Schilens struggles to stay healthy.  Murphy is in a nice situation to succeed.

What to expect: Murphy will try and shed the stigma that is University of Florida Wide Receivers, by making a name for himself as a legitimate receiving option at the next level.  The talent is there, but he is still a work in progress.  In his rookie season (again, with Jamarcus Russell at the helm), he managed to catch 34 balls for 521 yards and 4 TD's.  Not bad.  Look for these numbers to spike.  Darrius Heyward-Bey is another young talent on an Oakland roster full of opportunity.  Just thought we would throw that out there as well....

----------

Matt Stafford took quite the beating in his rookie year - enough to require offseason surgery.  A tough way to start an NFL career as the starting QB of the Detroit Lions.  Well, the Lions are surrounding him with talent and Matt Stafford is a Beast in the making.

Why we want Matt Stafford on our Dynasty Roster: He can still be had for relatively cheap, maybe.  While we are expecting a legitimate rise in statistical production in his sophomore campaign - and an occasional QB1 performance sprinkled in there for good measure - , it will likely be another 1-2 years before his numbers shoot through the roof.  He has all the intangibles and a supporting cast to be a perennial QB1 for 15 straight years.

What to Expect:
Stafford is really good, and the Lions have done a nice job of surrounding him with weapons.  They are however a  young group of players that will need another season (or two) to grow as a unit.  Once that occurs Matt Stafford will firmly entrench himself as a legitimate fantasy stud - right around the same time Calvin Johnson will be entering his prime.  He is likely already rostered in all Dynasty League formats, but can still be had at a reasonable price.  As we said earlier, while the consistency will lack in 2010, expect him to post some monster games this year, establishing himself as a top Dynasty commodity at the QB position by 2011.

----------

Jacoby Jones is as big...and faster than Andre Johnson.

Why we want Jacoby Jones on our Dynasty Roster:   While what we said above is true, he is not Andre Johnson.  He will stand to benefit from lining up opposite the leagues top WR however.  At only 26 years old, Jones has the potential to post some solid seasons as Johnson approaches his golden ages.  The Texans are currently the top passing team in the league and with consistent double teams on AJ, Jones will look to carve out a role.

What to Expect: We don't expect huge things from Jones, but he has a solid skill set and is in a great opportunity to reap the benefits of his situation.  He also showed to be a solid Red Zone threat catching 6 TD's in 2009 despite only recording 27 catches on the season.  If he is ever going to break out 2010 is going to be that year.  He is worth taking a flier on, most especially if you already roster AJ. Using the argument that after 3 seasons in the NFL, he has only caught a total of 45 balls should land you Jones at a price worth rolling the dice on.
