2011 NFL Rookie Rankings

Back to Rankings   -   Print

1.      AJ Green - Bengals WR
It may take a season or two for the Bengals to get their offense (QB Situation) in order before we see his full potential. In the meantime, expect moderate instant impact. Reportedly having a strong camp.

2.      Julio Jones - Falcons WR
Neck and neck with Green for top WR honors, just as big, just as athletic. A better situation however to make an immediate impact. Reportedly having a ridiculously good camp.

3.      Cam Newton - Panthers QB
All the intangibles with cat like reflexes. Beasting right now.

4.      Mark Ingram - Saints RB
A great opportunity in NOLA. Immediate impact with a big workload expected. Had to imagine him not earning top Rookie RB honors in 2011.

5.      Greg Little - Browns WR
Former RB will fit nicely in a Colt McCoy led west coast attack. Two years out of football now may make him a bit rusty, but in short time he could be breaking big plays. Already penciled in as the Browns #1 wideout.

6.      Jonathan Baldwin - Chiefs WR
Could experience a bit of a learning curve. Also could battle for targets in an offense loaded with weapons. We like his long term upside in KC as D. Bowe is merely an average WR.

7.      Demarco Murray - Cowboys RB
Big time collegiate production with over 50 rushing TD's and over 150 receptions. A solid inside rusher that catches the ball well. He'll need to carve out a role with the Cowboys. Already landed on the shelf which was his primary concern coming out of college.

8.      Randall Cobb - Packers WR
Speed to burn with sticky hands that make scouts drool. Buried on the Packers depth chart...for now.

9.      Daniel Thomas - Dolphins RB
One-Two punch between Thomas and Bush could be a solid one on a team that still needs to run the ball often. He runs between the tackles and Bush doesn't so short yardage TD's here will be a plus.

10.      Torrey Smith - Ravens WR
A solid prospect that will have to prove he is more than just a deep threat. His ridiculous speed will be an asset to the Ravens immediately.

11.      Roy Helu - Redskins RB
Climbing up the Redskins depth chart at RB. Mike Shannahan backfields can be frustrating though, so lets not get too excited here. We have given Helu the benefit of the doubt with a ranking this high.

12.      Denarius Moore - Raiders WR
Super fast obviously. Has nice size and skill set to find a role on an overall mediocre WR corps in Oakland. Opportunity here.

13.      Jake Locker - Titans QB
Sitting in an unbelievable situation where he can learn behind one of the leagues most respected QB's in Matt Hasselbeck. Locker will benefit, and we love his long term outlook. Hasselbeck has been injury prone, so we may see him sooner than later.

14.      Andy Dalton - Bengals QB
Solid arm, solid build and a big jump as a junior make Dalton an intriguing prospect. He's the starter in Cinn., but we're not sure that is necessarily a good thing for his long term outlook. Could surprise however.

15.      Christian Ponder - Vikings QB
Injuries are a huge question mark. Skill set may outshine those concerns and he'll get a shot in 2011 with the Vikings. A low ceiling however and will benefit to sit for a season behind D. McNabb.

16.      Kendall Hunter - 49ers RB
A smallish back in the mold of MJD or Ray Rice. Plays with a chip on his shoulder. Could surprise but will likely struggle for a season or two learning to pick up the blitz with only very small size.

17.      Colin Kaepernick - 49ers QB
Alex Smith gets another chance in San Fran. but be not mistaken, new HC Jim Harbaugh drafted Kaepernick as his future guy. How Smith fares will clearly dictate how soon the more athletic, strong armed CK finds the field.

18.      Titus Young - Lions WR
An explosive playmaker that can stretch the field. Size a concern, especially his very thin legs. Not as dynamic as DJax.

19.      Leonard Hankerson - Redskins WR
Struggling some in camp, but we still like his skill set. Worth a stash and wait, but without a solid option chucking the rock in Washington, the questionmarks will remain.

20.      Kyle Rudolph - Vikings TE
This crop is not going to have the impact that the 2010 class did, but Rudolph leads this group and has Beast upside. Should push aside Shiancoe by 2012.

21.      Lance Kendricks - Rams TE
In the mold of Owen Daniels he is an intruiging prospect because of his near complete TE skill set. A shifty runner in a great situation.

22.      Blaine Gabbert - Jaguars QB
Looked lost as a rookie. Needs to bounce back in 2012.

23.      Ryan Williams - Cards RB
Skilled and elusive back, but he'll miss all of 2011 with a patellar tendon tear. He's got his work cut out for him.

24.      Mikel Leshoure - Lions RB
An Achilles injury is a serious one, and it severely hurts the Dynasty value of one of our favorite 2011 Rookie RB prospects. His value has taken a big hit, but still is worth hanging on to in deep Dynasty leagues.

25.      Ryan Mallett - Patriots QB
Excellent landing spot for Mallett, who will learn from some of the best. Not sure when he'll get a chance to play however. Watch the Pats move him to a QB needy team in two seasons where he will become the starter.

26.      Stevan Ridley - Patriots RB
A power back with enough ability to be a lead back and workhorse type. Will need to work his way into the rotation.

27.      Delone Carter - Colts RB
Gives the Colts a tough inside runner, something they do not currently have on their roster.

28.      Jacquizz Rodgers - Falcons RB
The diminutive playmaker might go the way of Dexter McCluster and Darren Sproles at the next level. He'll be exciting to watch, but his upside may be limited.

29.      Vincent Brown - Chargers WR
Enough size and speed to be a possession type. Good situation however behind 3 very good receivers in SD.

30.      Doug Baldwin - Seahawks WR
Undrafted out of Stanford, Baldwin has made an instant impact for the Seahawks. Could be the long term No. 2.

31.      Taiwan Jones - Raiders RB
Likely the fastest player in this year's class, however numerous injuries remain a concern.

32.      Tandon Doss - Ravens WR
Doss is a big wideout that uses his body well and has speed to make plays downfield. Could develop into a very reliable threat.

33.      Greg Salas - Rams WR
Part of a crowded group of Rams WR's, but we expect Salas to make the squad and with Bradford chucking it 40+ times a game, there is some definite opportunity here. Temper expectations for some time however.

34.      Jordan Cameron - Browns TE
The next basketball player turned inexperienced football Tight End is making some serious noise and in a great situation with a weak receiving corps in Cle.

35.      Evan Royster - Redskins RB
Solid potential, likely as a complimentary back with a 5.7 yard per carry average at Penn State.

36.      Edmond "Clyde" Gates - Dolphins WR
Raw prospect with lightening speed. Needs to hone skills, but big upside here. Some say he's a more polished wideout than former Abiline Christian wideout Johnny Knox. Downside is he's entering the league at 25 years old.

37.      Terrelle Pryor - Raiders QB
QB for now, could be moved to WR or TE possibly. A lottery ticket with huge upside.

38.      Jerrel Jernigan - Giants WR
Chess piece. He will work himself into a valuable role on the Giants offense, especially with Steve Smith now out of the picture. Upside limited though as a slot guy.

39.      Julius Thomas - Broncos TE
Could find his way onto an NFL roster if he keeps impressing.

40.      Jeremy Kerley - Jets WR
Playmaking receiver could be a weapon for Sanchez in 2012.

41.      Shane Vereen - Patriots RB
Not the playmaker Jahvid Best was in college, but he does have enough speed and the right build to make an impact as a complimentary back for the Patriots.

42.      Da'Rel Scott - Giants RB
High character RB that is super athletic. Former track athlete has speed to burn. Broken arm in his junior season hurt his stock some.

43.      Niles Paul - Redskins WR
Late developer who's skills are far better than his stat line suggests.

44.      Austin Pettis - Rams WR
We also expect Pettis (similar to Greg Salas) to make the Rams squad in 2011.

45.      Luke Stocker - Bucs TE
Boosted stock with nice Senior Bowl, Stocker is a complete TE. A nice long term situation in a rapidly improving Bucs. team.

46.      Tyrod Taylor - Ravens QB/WR
Taylor may not be looked at as a top QB prospect, but he does have upside as a back-up or possibly as a wideout.

47.      Bilal Powell - Jets RB
Big and strong, Powell could be a TD machine on Sundays.

48.      Johnny White - Bills RB
A deep sleeper in this years draft that may provide solid dividends when you land him late in your Dynasty Rookie Drafts.

49.      Alex Green - Packers RB
Can catch the ball out of the backfield and find the endzone from short yardage. He'll miss the rest of his rookie season with an ACL tear, but he might find himself in a timeshare with James Starks in 2012.

50.      Virgil Green -Broncos TE
Big time upside here on this longshot athletic freak.
