| The Fantasy Offseason | Posted Jan 11, 2012 at 11:42 AM EST |
It's here...whether you won a championship in your league or finished in last place, the offseason is the most crucial time of year for your franchise. You'll have a rookie draft, there are free agent fliers to be taken and the NFL player movement creates new opportunites for young prospects. To help you prepare for your offseason, BeastOrBust.com will be giving you the Dynasty reaction on everything that goes down. From the long awaited Gronk vs. Jimmy Graham Beast vs. Bust article to our updated rankings and some prospects to track this summer, we'll be churning out fresh content all offseason long. We'll also be kicking off our draft coverage once the NFL Playoffs are over but here's a very early look at our 2012 NFL Draft Prospect Top 5:
1. Andrew Luck - The crown jewel of QB prospects, Luck projects as a QB1 for years to come.
2. Justin Blackmon - A complete WR talent that sits atop this deep receiving class.
3. Trent Richardson - One of the best RB prospects in recent memory, he has speed, power and skillset to be an elite RB as soon as this season.
4. Robert Griffin III - An electric playmaker with his legs and his arm, RGIII is a high upside prospect who is only taking a backseat because of Luck's near-perfect profile.
5. Alshon Jeffery - He has go-to receiver skills and the upside to be the best receiver from this draft class.

| Fantasy Championship Week | Posted Dec 23, 2011 at 06:00 AM EST |
This is it. It started around this time last year, analyzing your team and making moves to put yourself into contention next season. You had the excitement of the NFL Draft, but then had to endure the lockout. You've battled injuries and underperformance, but you made it to the Championship of your league. And it's not just about a monetary payout, it's about the bragging rights and maybe even the trophy. Good luck to you if you are in the finals. If you're not, hopefully the wheels are already turning for 2012. It's never too early.
Thanks for being a loyal BeastOrBust reader. Much like you, we are hoping to continue to improve as we look towards next year. Dynasty football does not have an offseason and neither do we, be sure to check back often for new content and coming in early 2012, our Draft coverage!

| The Playoff Push | Posted Nov 29, 2011 at 07:45 AM EST |
It's getting down to crunch time. You are either coasting in the playoffs, battling for a spot or re-tooling for next season. Any way you slice it, the excitement of Dynasty football is at a high in December. Between the injuries and emerging talent, Dynasty stocks are moving up and down at a moment's notice. Now is the time to evaluate your team, your position in the standings and your potential compete level in 2012. If you are trying to sneak into the playoffs where anything can happen, make a few moves to improve your lineup. Give up a prospect or a draft pick if it gives you a legit shot at a title, just don't sacrifice your entire future. If you are out of the running, it's time to sell your tangible goods to the highest bidder in an effort to get younger and more competitive next season. In the coming weeks, we'll be bringing you a look at some Emerging Talent, a few players to keep an eye on for 2012 and a Beast Vs. Bust showdown of epic proportions with Jimmy Graham squaring off against Rob Gronkowski. Stay tuned and thanks for checking in!

| Last of the Bye Weeks | Posted Nov 18, 2011 at 07:30 AM EST |
After Week 11, the bye week scramble will be over, but the injuries look like they will leave a lasting impact. Now's the time to do any last tinkering with your lineup via trade. If you are battling for a spot, even a seemingly small upgrade could be the extra push your team needs to make that championship run. If you are out of the race in a Dynasty league, it's time to move your older, still useful players for draft picks and prospects. Remember, it's always better to move a Beastly running back a year early as opposed to a year too late. There are still gems to be uncovered on the waiver wire as well, and as long as your handfuls are in place you can drop some of your bye week depth for more long term talents. Enjoy the weekend ahead and get ready for the fantasy playoffs. Thanks for visiting the Beast and as always if you have any feedback, suggestions or questions, you can hit us up via email, Twitter or Facebook.

| Bye Week Fill-ins | Posted Oct 13, 2011 at 08:00 PM EST |
Bye weeks are in full effect and that means your lineup is not going to be a full strength for another month or so. Everyone goes through it, but solid bench depth is never more important. It's a tough balance in a Dynasty league, as you don't want to cut any long term prospects for a one week player, but you also don't want to lose ground on your opponent. That also creates opportunity for you to buy low on a prospect that might be underperforming or simply not seeing the field enough just yet. Take advantage if you have excess depth, one of those long term stashes you acquire could end up making a huge impact for you in coming seasons.

Everyone is a contender during the first few weeks of the fantasy season. Plenty of optimism. You feel great about your team (unless you took Jamaal Charles in the first round) and there is no doubt in your mind that you're headed right for the playoffs. We've seen a lot in the first two weeks of the season thus far. Arian Foster has been hobbled and with Jamaal Charles out for the season, so there have been major waiver wire scrambles already. Ben Tate is flashing major skills that made him a BeastOrBust favorite last summer. Houston will certainly have some workload questions once Foster is at full strength. Dexter McCluster and Thomas Jones will be pinch-hitting for Jamaal Charles. Dex is a weapon, but he's undersized and is not featured back material. With his playmaking ability, however, he can be a fantasy asset with 5-10 carries and another 5 catches per game. Thomas Jones is 33 years old and runs like it. He doesn't have much left in the tank and his Dynasty value is obviously limited, but he's going to get around 15 carries a week in all likelihood, making him an add for desperate owners.
Freshman 15 Update: Cam Newton has had a start unlike any rookie QB in NFL history. While he may not throw for 400 yards again this year, fantasy owners have a glimpse of what he can do. AJ Green and Julio Jones are already proving they belong, while Daniel Thomas and Denarius Moore burst onto the scene last week with solid outings. Look for a full Freshman 15 update in a few weeks!
In addition to that and a number of feature articles we have planned, we are bringing you two regular articles each week. Our Weekly Reactions will take a look at the major headlines from the games with a re-draft and Dynasty perspective in mind and the Weekly Preview will feature a team by team look of the following weeks games.

| The Preseason is here... | Posted Aug 02, 2011 at 07:35 PM EST |
While the NFL lockout was surely a frustrating event, an unexpected positive result was an abridged offseason that has been unlike any other before. Over the last two weeks we have seen non-stop free agent action, player movement, rookie signings and an abundance of news and speculation. Awesome to say the least! The excitement of the last two weeks, and eager attention by fans surely leads us to believe the NFL should consider shortening the free agency period in the future...
With so much player movement over a short period of time, it can be difficult to keep up with all the action - not to mention the changes to so many player values as a result. Over the next few weeks we plan to roll out an abundance of information to help as you prepare for the 2011 Fantasy Football Season, Inaugural Dynasty Draft, Upcoming Rookie Draft or even, yes, a Redraft League. Our latest articles published to the site include an overview of the latest Free Agent Movement and we suggest checking back often as we continue to update any late developing Free Agent development.
