Dynasty Quarterback Rankings

Back to Rankings   -   Print

1.      Aaron Rodgers - Packers
Beast! Easily our top rated Dynasty QB. Survived a heavy pounding in 2009 and still managed to post a top rated stat line. His WR corps will only get better.

2.      Philip Rivers - Chargers
Age puts him ahead of Brees and Manning. He is really good.

3.      Drew Brees - Saints
5-7 seasons of beastliness left. HC Sean Peyton will keep the offensive productivity intact.

4.      Peyton Manning - Colts
3-5 seasons of high productivity.

5.      Tony Romo - Cowboys
It looks as though he has finally gotten it. Plenty of weapons to support him for the remainder of his career.

6.      Matt Ryan - Falcons
The closest thing you are going to find to Peyton Manning of the promising group of young NFL QB's.

7.      Jay Cutler - Bears
His talent is undeniable. Look for him to steadily improve as Chi-town surrounds their best player with offensive weaponry.

8.      Matthew Stafford - Lions
Stafford showed a lot of grit and flashes of potential in his rookie season.

9.      Joe Flacco - Ravens
He struggled in the second half and in the playoffs, but improved his passing numbers across the board in his 2nd season. He is on the cusp of becoming an elite option, he just needs a few more weapons.

10.      Josh Freeman - Bucs
Freeman made a ton of mistakes (18 INT in 10 games), but showed skills that could make him a fantasy stud in time. High risk, high reward player.

11.      Matt Schaub - Texans
A fantasy beast that is not an elite NFL QB. This will likely catch up to him over the long term.

12.      Chad Henne - Dolphins
We are very intrigued by Hennes upside. He certainly has the arm and intangibles to be a QB1.

13.      Tom Brady - Patriots
Do not be too concerned about his poor finish to 2009, but he definitely has taken a step back from Top-5 status.

14.      Eli Manning - Giants
Eli had one of the best years of his career in 2009. His weapons are for real and he could crack the Top 10 with a repeat.

15.      Ben Roethlisberger - Steelers
Big Ben is in some legal trouble (again), but we don't quite know how serious it is yet. The first 4,000 yard passer in Steelers history. Expect a more balanced attack in 2010, but he is a solid QB1.

16.      Kevin Kolb - Eagles
Kolb just got a promotion. He is going to be surrounded by some serious weapons and a head coach that loves to throw the ball. A big opportunity to rise on this list over the 2010 season.

17.      Mark Sanchez - Jets
A typical rookie season. In the long run, Sanchez will benefit. His athletic ability and winning pedigree are pluses. When he is asked to pass in 2010, he'll have plenty of weapons to choose from.

18.      Matt Cassel - Cheifs
Some of the pieces are in place for Cassel to be a solid QB2 next season.

19.      Sam Bradford (R) - Rams
A stud in the making, but he's got a few years before he will be fantasy relevant.

20.      Carson Palmer - Bengals
Palmer was just not a reliable QB1 option last season. 2010 is a big year for his value, but he needs a downfield threat.

21.      Vince Young - Titans
VY came back strong, showing accuracy and poise. QB2 in 2010, with upside.

22.      Donovan McNabb - Redskins
McNabb is solid, but at 34 years old, he is at the beginning of the end. Weapons get seriously downgraded in Washington, but a healthy McNabb is still a threat to finish inside the Top 10 this season.

23.      Jason Campbell - Raiders
Traded to the Raiders on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, he has intriguing QB2 value. Oakland position players receive a bump in value.

24.      Kyle Orton - Broncos
Orton was solid in his first season with the Broncos. He is more or less a game manager, but should be a reliable QB2 again in 2010.

25.      Alex Smith - 49ers
He has weapons, but will the 49ers go to the spread full time? We need to see a full season from Smith.

26.      David Garrard - Jaguars
May have one or two years of solid starting left at the most.

27.      Matt Leinart - Cardinals
Has looked awful in spot duty, but will have a legit shot at fantasy success now that Kurt Warner has retired. He has basically one full season to prove his worth.

28.      Matt Moore - Carolina
Should be the Panthers 2010 starter. Solid upside.

29.      Brady Quinn - Broncos
Accuracy in intermediate to deep routes suffers. Will get good guidance from HC McDaniels who is considered a young QB guru.

30.      Trent Edwards - Bills
Not the answer in Buffalo. He would be a nice back-up though.

31.      Brett Favre - Vikings
The old man just keeps playing at a high level. We expect him to play in 2010.

32.      Tarvaris Jackson - Vikings
He is learning a lot from daddy gray beard Brett Favre. Jackson is a buy low candidate now for a future QB2.

33.      Josh Johnson - Bucs.
An extremely gifted athlete, but he is young and has a lot to learn.

34.      Matt Hasselback - Seahawks
35 years old and having trouble staying healthy. Pete Carroll will bring in a QB of the Future very soon.

35.      Charlie Whitehurst - Seahawks
Ideal size and arm strength, Whitehurst has a strong lineage and has been learning behind Philip Rivers for 4 years. That and the fact that the Seahawks gave up a lot to get him is enough to roll the dice on in your Dynasty league.

36.      Dennis Dixon - Steelers
Showed some skills in his only career start. Potential and definitely a Big Ben handcuff in deep leagues.

37.      Brian Hoyer - Patriots
Has a long way to go before seeing any action. He has shown good poise with his opportunities however.

38.      Jimmy Clausen (R) - Panthers
May see a start or two in 2010, but he's got a way to go.

39.      Derek Anderson - Arizona Cardinals
Could he beat out Matt Leinart in the desert? Not likely, but he has a huge arm and could be called upon if Leinart falters.

40.      Colt McCoy (R) - Browns
A chance to be a solid pro, but could very well become a journey pro similar to Kyle Orton due to arm strength..

41.      Nate Davis - 49ers
Davis has the measurables to succeed in the NFL, needs more time to develop as a player.

42.      Curtis Painter - Colts
Keep an eye on him because he is learning from Peyton Manning.

43.      Steve McGee - Cowboys
You never know in Dallas what Jerry Jones may do. They like McGee and have very little patience for players that struggle. Not relevant yet.

44.      Tom Brandstater - Broncos
If Kyle Orton is not the future in Denver, Brandstater could be getting groomed for the gig in 2011. Keep an eye on his development this summer.

45.      Brett Ratliff - Browns
Will try to pass Jake Delhomme as the #2 QB in Cleveland.

46.      Michael Vick - Eagles
Could have a starting job next season. That would be interesting.

47.      Keith Null - Rams
Was okay when pressed into duty in 2009. Some upside, but the future of the organization will be in Sam Bradford's hands soon enough.

48.      Seneca Wallace - Browns
Might be starting for the Browns in Week 1. Upside is limited, but could be effective in very deep 2QB leagues.

49.      Jamarcus Russell - Raiders
No work ethic or desire to improve.

50.      Marc Bulger - Ravens
Could make a decent back-up and mentor, but Dynasty value is very limited.
