| 1. |
Arian Foster - Texans
Held off strong seasons by McCoy and Rice, Foster is the Beast of the position at the moment. |
|
| 2. |
LeSean McCoy - Eagles
When it comes to producing RB1 type numbers on limited touches, McCoy is the man. Barely edges Ray Rice because of explosiveness. |
|
| 3. |
Ray Rice - Ravens
The TD's came in bunches with McGahee out of the equation. Elite level RB1. Case can be made for the most complete back in the NFL. |
|
| 4. |
Chris Johnson - Titans
An elite talent that needs to rebound in 2012. |
|
| 5. |
Matt Forte - Bears
Dual threat that went from production by volume to an RB1 type prior to his season ending injury. |
|
| 6. |
Darren McFadden - Raiders
RB1 talent and ability, but also the game's biggest injury risk. |
|
| 7. |
Ryan Mathews - Chargers
Flashed big time ability in 2011, but needs to shake injury bug to reach full potential as an RB1. |
|
| 8. |
Maurice Jones-Drew - Jaguars
Versatile back with a nose for the end zone. A durable and tough player. Age 27 season, so he should have a few Beastly seasons remaining. |
|
| 9. |
Mark Ingram (R) - Saints
First season in New Orleans did not go exactly according to plan. Still has the talent of an RB1, opportunity to be more than a FLEX player is likely another year or two away. |
|
| 10. |
Jonathan Stewart - Panthers
Sporadically productive in a timeshare with an aging DeAngelo Williams. Is it 2013 yet? Will enter free agency with prime years ahead of him. Buy now. |
|
| 11. |
Ahmad Bradshaw - Giants
Injury concerns hold him back from being an RB1. Giants will look to upgrade RB situation in 2012, but Bradshaw should remain the lead back. |
|
| 12. |
CJ Spiller - Bills
Playmaking back that started to make plays once Fred Jax got hurt. In a timeshare for 2012, but a valuable player that can be productive with 15-20 touches a game. |
|
| 13. |
Jamaal Charles - Chiefs
Top 5 potential, but owners will need to wait until 2012 to see him back on the field. |
|
| 14. |
Chris Wells - Cardinals
Beanie had his best season yet and is capable of being a TD machine. Will have to deal with a healthy Ryan Williams next season. |
|
| 15. |
Adrian Peterson - Vikings
A Beast, but the knee injury coupled with his age and wear and tear on his body hurt his stock. Dynasty arrow pointing down at the moment. |
|
| 16. |
Rashard Mendenhall - Steelers
ACL injury hurts his stock. Needs to prove healthy next season and maintain lion's share of the carries to hold RB2 status. |
|
| 17. |
Ben Tate - Texans
A high upside compliment to Arian Foster, he has big time ability. |
|
| 18. |
Demarco Murray (R) - Cowboys
Has started out gangbusters and has already shown that he deserves to be the lead back. Injuries the only question, as they have been for him since college. |
|
| 19. |
Roy Helu (R) - Redskins
Long term committee back, but Helu is explosive and catches balls out of the backfield well. Shanahan factor for another season at least. |
|
| 20. |
LeGarrette Blount - Bucs
A productive back with limited upside. Difficult to trust his hard nosed style of play will allow him to stay on the field for the long haul. |
|
| 21. |
Daniel Thomas (R) - Dolphins
Not the rookie season most were expecting. He's a buy right now, with potential to take over for Reggie Bush in the next couple seasons. Not an elite talent, but RB2 upside in Miami. |
|
| 22. |
Frank Gore - 49ers
Still a solid option, but difficult to really count on moving forward. He's not a hold or a buy at this point, it is time to sell while he still has Top 10 appeal. |
|
| 23. |
Michael Bush - Raiders
An above average skillset, but not elite. 2012 is his year 28 season, but has some tread left on his tires. Could be back in Oakland. |
|
| 24. |
Kendall Hunter (R) - 49ers
More like Ray Rice than you realize. He's a powerful rusher with a versatile skill set. |
|
| 25. |
Peyton Hillis - Browns
The Madden coverboy's production in 2010 was too good to be true, but Hillis could bounce back if he's healthy in 2012. |
|
| 26. |
Reggie Bush - Dolphins
Rebirth in Miami has Bush back inside the Top 25. |
|
| 27. |
Steven Jackson - Rams
Too much of a stud to rank him any lower, however after yet another heavy workload in 2011, he could rapidly fall on this list in 2012. |
|
| 28. |
James Starks - Packers
Has a lead back skillset, but more in the RB2-3 range. |
|
| 29. |
Jahvid Best - Lions
Best is on IR and questions about his long term health cloud his NFL and Dynasty league future. |
|
| 30. |
DeAngelo Williams - Panthers
Why did the Panthers give him that contract? He or Stewart needs to leave town to be productive. |
|
| 31. |
Marshawn Lynch - Seahawks
We're giving him one more chance after seeing one of the greatest runs in NFL history in the 2010 playoffs. |
|
| 32. |
Darren Sproles - Saints
Dynamic but diminutive player, his long term appeal is limited. For the next couple seasons, though, he should be explosive. |
|
| 33. |
Montario Hardesty - Browns
Talented but injury prone. Could have a big opportunity in 2012 if Hillis walks. |
|
| 34. |
Shonn Greene - Jets
Not a featured back, more of a complimentary power type. Jets need to upgrade their RB situation. |
|
| 35. |
Toby Gerhart - Vikings
Talent level limits his upside, but he'll get an opportunity early in 2012 to show what he can do. Underrated pass catcher. |
|
| 36. |
Mike Tolbert - Chargers
What is he? A fullback, tailback, running back, scatback. Who cares what you call him, he is versatile and productive. |
|
| 37. |
Mikel LeShoure (R) - Lions
Achilles injury hurts his immediate value, but now may be the time to acquire him for really cheap in Dynasty leagues. |
|
| 38. |
Donald Brown - Colts
Did the light go on in 2011? Showed signs of fantasy life, but he needs consistency. |
|
| 39. |
Ryan Williams (R) - Cardinals
Patellar Tendon injury kills his 2011 value. He has youth and athleticism on his side, but it's a long road back. |
|
| 40. |
Michael Turner - Falcons
Talented back that earned a starting gig too late in his career. He'll likely be run into the ground over the next year or so. |
|
| 41. |
Felix Jones - Cowboys
Injury prone and inconsistent. A big play prospect that hasn't been on the field enough to be reliable. |
|
| 42. |
Pierre Thomas - Saints
Not an every down back and now must compete with Mark Ingram. Things are not looking good. |
|
| 43. |
Bernard Scott - Bengals
Bengals are reluctant to turn him loose with more carries. Upside limited by age and opportunity. |
|
| 44. |
Knowshon Moreno - Broncos
ACL tear hampers his value even further. Stock way down. |
|
| 45. |
Benjarvus Green-Ellis - Patriots
More competition for BJGE this season. Runs hard, but is a situational talent. |
|
| 46. |
Fred Jackson - Bills
He's 30, so value is limited but had a Beastly when healthy 2011. Should lose touches to CJ Spiller in 2012. |
|
| 47. |
Cedric Benson - Bengals
Another season or two of solid productivity. Be weary of a fast breakdown. |
|
| 48. |
Stevan Ridley - Patriots
Has the look of a featured back, but the Patriots have not let him loose yet. 2012 will likely have it's ups and downs but he could start to establish himself. |
|
| 49. |
Ryan Grant - Packers
A solid option but not particularly special in any facet. He'll still find work the next few seasons however. |
|
| 50. |
Joe Addai - Colts
Averaged over 4 yards a carry for the first time in three years, but also missed half of the season due to injury. If he stays with the Colts, will continue to be an uninspiring RB3. |
