Nature of the Beast - Week 6 Review
Quarterbacks

Tom Brady is back...kind of. He had 6 TDs through the first 5 games, but had 6 in just over a half this Sunday. Of course, the Titans defense can make any offense look unstoppable. He brings the air show to London this weekend for another nice matchup against an inept, winless team.
Drew Brees owners picked apart a very good Giants defense on Sunday. The machine is back on track.
Kerry Collins completed two passes yesterday for negative total yards. He will likely be replaced by Vince Young as the teams starter after the bye week. If you are in a deep league, VY is worth a flier, but do not expect much.
Jason Campbell got benched for Todd Collins in the second half against the Chiefs Sunday. Jim Zorn said the switch was not permanent, but Campbell could not get anything going and Collins was equally as ineffective. Zorn has been stripped of his playcalling duties and will likely be the first NFL coach fired this season.
If Matt Schaub stays healthy, he can finish the season as a Top 3 fantasy QB. Owners will want to have an above average backup just in case, but the talent is very real.
Ben Roethlisberger is continuing to throw a ton. He lit up the Browns for over 400 yards and two TDs. BIg Ben is a solid QB1 this season.
Derek Anderson was not as bad as he was against the Bills two weeks ago, but he was brutal against the Steelers Sunday. The Browns offense is a fantasy wasteland.
For as good as Matt Hasselbeck was last week, he was just as bad against the Cardinals on Sunday. He is more of a QB2 this season.
Looks like Mark Sanchez will not be going directly to Canton.
Jamarcus Russell looked half way decent against a tough Eagles D, but he still cannot complete passes to his WR.  Chaz Schilens is slated to return in Week 7 for what it's worth.

Running Backs

Ray Rice is emerging as an RB1. He is a playmaker with the ball in his hands and the Ravens have begun to phase out Willis McGahee.
DeAngelo Williams had a big game Sunday with over 150 yards and two TDs, but Jonathan Stewart was equally as effective with limited touches, going for over 100 yards and a TD. Both players have Top Ten ability, but will impact each others value significantly.
Chris Johnson is the only fantasy relevant player on the Titans.
Kevin Smith has struggled this season but he still hovers around the Top 10 RBs in most fantasy leagues. Expect him come back from the bye week strong.
Adrian Peterson did not score Sunday, but had 4 catches for 23 yards and 143 rushing yards. He is the definition of a beast.
Maurice Jones-Drew followed up two lackluster performances with a huge game against the Rams with 3 TDs. Obviously, he is a must start every single week.
Steven Jackson still has not found the endzone this season. He continues to rack up yardage, but he really has no help on offense.
Pierre Thomas had another solid performance Sunday, but clearly Sean Payton does not own him in his fantasy league because Mike Bell vultured a TD.
Is Michael Turner over rated or is this just a slow start? A little bit of both probably, but he is a good buy low in redraft leagues. He is still scoring TDs.
What is up with Matt Forte?
Steve Slaton still has not gotten much going on the ground, but he had over 100 yards receiving on Sunday. His playmaking abilities will keep him in the Top 15 RBs this season.

Wide Receivers

Rany Moss and Wes Welker were likely the top receiving options in your fantasy league this week.  They both finally had breakout games after generally slow starts, but consider this game an anamoly.
Marques Colston was within inches of another TD.
Hines Ward is on pace to have his best season of his long career.  He is also finding the end zone.  More so than Santonio Holmes.
Larry Fitzgerald finally reached the 100 yard mark in Week 6.  His 13 receptions were nice also.
Brett Favre really likes throwing the ball to Sidney Rice.  Rice's value is steadily on the rise.
Steve Smith, Mario Manningham and Hakeem Nicks are all reliable weekly starters.  Hakeem Nicks has the top big play ability of the three.
Andre Johnson remains a beast.  No TD this week, but 8 for 138 is impressive.
Welcome Back Mike Sims-Walker
Anquan Boldin came out with an injury.  Steve Breaston filled in with 7 receptions for 77 yards and a TD.  Breastons value is through the roof if Boldins injury last for any time.
As expected, Tory Holt had a nice game against his former team. He has some nice upcoming matchups, but his upside is obviously limited.
Lee Evans found the end zone this week.  His value continues to drop as the Bills struggle and Edwards remains a questionmark.
Devin Hester remains hit or miss each week.  Johnny Knox continues to impress.
Roddy White has 3 TD's in his last 2 games.
Andre Caldwell had 6 receptions in Week 6.  He continues to get frequent looks from Carson Palmer.
6 receptions for 69 yards is not a promising number for Greg Jennings in what was a routing of the Detroit Lions.
After catching a TD pass in the first series of the game, Donnie Avery left the game with an injury.  Unfortunate, he was finally showing some signs of busting out after a slow start to the season.
Braylon Edwards value is obviously closely tied to Mark Sanchez.  Mark Sanchez is struggling.

TIght Ends

Zach Miller finally found the end zone for the first time in 2009.  He is the only trusted receiving option in Oakland at this point.
Owen Daniels found the end zone twice in Week 6.  He is on pace to be a Top 3 TE in 2009.
Brett Favre loves to throw to Visante Shiancoe in the red zone.  He has 4 TD's in his last 3 games.
Heath Miller is a reliable weekly starter.
Greg Olsen hasn't broken out yet, but he does have 3 TD's in his last 3 games.
The presence of Tony Gonzalez raises the fantasy value of every other Falcons offensive weapon.  He is not so bad himself either.  He has 3 TD's in 5 games.
Jeremy Shockey found the end zone in the first half, and then disappeared.
Following his 2 TD peformance in Week 1, John Carlson has been entirely unimpressive.  What happened?
