Offseason Talking Points
The dog-days of summer are here and legitimate offseason fantasy football news has slowed to a trickle.  This time of year, the BeastOrBust.com team finds ourselves still talking plenty of Dynasty Football as we stand around the grill and endulge in grilled hot dog after grilled hot dog - that is why they call it the dog days of summer after all.  So with little but speculation - and an eye on the future, we offer a few of our Offseason Talking Points.  Check back as we will roll out a few more of these articles as we approach the 2010 season.

2009 was considered a disappointment for Matt Ryan.  Kind of ridiculous considering he played through injury and his TD totals increased. Last chance to acquire him before his value skyrockets.

Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan and Chad Henne each look to be emerging into QB1 options.  Ryan is still the safest pick.

Josh McDaniels likes the short term stability that Kyle Orton provides (and his second season within his system) although the Broncos do not look to be very competitive in 2010.  There will be plenty of pressure to start Tim Tebow by late season.

More from the Broncos...playing from behind often does not bode well for the fantasy value of an RB.  Not good news for Knowshon Moreno.  He will be a buy low candidate mid season 2010 for a 2011 breakout.

The Arizona Cardinals signed OG Alan Faneca with the intent of doing some Head Coach Whisenhunt style hard nosed inside, G-Power rushing.  Expect big things in 2010 for Beanie Wells and even Tim Hightower to a lesser extent.

More from the Cardinals...it would not surprise us to see Steve Breaston post better numbers in 2010 than Anquan Boldin.

The Mike Holmgren/Eric Mangini run Cleveland Browns are building an impressive offensive unit.  2010 may be the last time the Browns young offensive weapons can be had for almost no value.

Looking for even more cheap value with solid upside?  The Raiders suddenly have the potential to be a solid fantasy powerhouse.  There is plenty of talent on this roster and there is finally a QB that can deliver the football.  If you can, land a Raider WR or two on the cheap before it is too late.

More from the Raiders...if deployed properly, both Michael Bush and Darren McFadden could have solid fantasy value in 2010. Bush stands to be the inside the tackles runner and goal line back, but McFadden the third down back and better bet in PPR leagues. Both players have RB2 upside, but will likely be RB3/FLEX options unless there is an injury.

Brandon Marshall's hip surgeries are of serious Dynasty concern.  At only 26 years old his overall long term outlook is questionable for one of the leagues elite at the WR position.

More from the Dolphins...Go get Davone Bess now if you play in a PPR league.  He is not elite, but has the potential to quietly catch 70-80 balls per year.

Kevin Kolb will experience a learning curve in his first year as a starter.  It is hard to imagine DeSean Jackson posting similar numbers in 2010, but if there is any player that could prove us wrong, he is it.

More from the Eagles...Jeremy Maclin is very eager to breakout!

Steven Jackson is coming off a brutally hard year of rushing the football.  Despite his beastly talent, he is a dangerous RB1.

The 49ers drafted two offensive lineman in the first two rounds of this years NFL Draft.  Frank Gore is primed for a monster season.  He is also one of 10 players to account for 20% of all RB carries in the last 5 seasons.  He doesn't have much mileage left, but could win you a championship this season. If you fall out of contention this year, move him for a large bounty of younger talent.

Tashard Choice is worth a Dynasty Stash.  The moment (if) he gets 5-6 straight weeks to start in place of an injured MBIII or Felix Jones, you've got yourself a must start in the 2010 Dynasty Playoffs and likely a 2-3 year RB starter in Dallas along side Jones.

More from the Cowboys...Tony Romo is poised to post league MVP type numbers.

Brandon Jacobs should post solid numbers in 2010, but after this season, that is likely it for BJ.  A tough spot for Dynasty owners, but at this point you should just ride him out because his value is too low to trade.  The Giants need an RB for the future.  One does not exist on their roster. Look for them to address that in the 2011 offseason.

More from the Giants...They have one of the top WR corps in the NFL.  Good news for Eli Manning.  Did you acquire Hakeem Nicks yet this offseason?  If not, what are you waiting for?

The Pierre Garcon hype train could disappoint if Austin Collie decides to score 8-10 TD's in 2010.  It's very possible.

More from the Colts...Peyton Manning will post career passing yardage numbers in 2010.  He won't match 49 TD's though.

Wes Welker is back on the field already.  While this is a miraculous feat only 4 months removed from an exploded knee, we are not convinced he will be ready for the start of the season.  Did you acquire Julian Edelman yet?  He is a better red zone threat than Welker with a similar skill set. Use the fact that Welker is practicing to get him on the cheap.

Dwayne Bowe's value is very low right now - take advantage if you can.  He is a knucklehead, but keep in mind the Chiefs were a disaster in 2009.  Look for this young squad to begin to show some serious promise in 2010 under new OC Charlie Weis.

Do you think Matt Schaub can stay healthy two years in a row? We are not willing to bet a Fantasy Playoff spot on that if we don't have to. Look to move him during the middle of the 2010 season for excellent QB1 value.

The Seahawks are a fantasy disaster at this point, but with Lendale White's release, Justin Forsett could be in line for regular touches. That makes him an intriguing Dynasty prospect for 2010. There is always a chance that they could add another RB at some point this season, though, so buyer beware.

Is Lee Evans going to look back on his career and wonder what could have been? Buffalo is once again inexperienced and underwhelming at the QB and WR positions this season. James Hardy, Steve Johnson and rookie Marcus Easley should get plenty of playing time, but the carousel of QB's throwing the ball make each of them no more than Dynasty stashes at this point. Hopefully, they focus on upgrading the position next offseason.
