Matt Schaub may or may not be out for the year, depending on who you talk to. What we do know is that he will not be playing anytime soon. Rumors of this injury being career threatening appear false, but the fact that they are out there sends his Dynasty value down a few more pegs. That also means Matt Leinart will get another shot at being an NFL QB. He'll likely not be asked to do too much, as we should get an even heavier dose of Arian Foster and FLEX play Ben Tate. Leinart should have enough experience to at least hold his own, meaning all is not lost for Andre Johnson owners. Deep sleeping rookie QB TJ Yates will wait in the wings if/when Leinart faulters.
Mike Vick has a few cracked ribs and it looks like handcuff Vince Young will start on Sunday against the Giants. This is a great audition for VY to prove he deserves a contract next year and a chance to be a starter again. Vick should be back in a few weeks, but this is why he was ranked as one of our most injury prone players over the summer. Just hope he heals up for the fantasy playoffs.
Matt Cassel might be out for the season with a hand injury. He was not having a stellar game before leaving and really was not having much of a season, but this hurts. Tyler Palko has the keys to the offense now and that should downgrade everyone across the board. Palko himself is flier material because he's going to have 7 weeks to show what he can do.
Carson Palmer had been injured the past few seasons, but is starting to look similar to his old self. Definite QB2 Dynasty value here with the weapons at his disposal in Oakland.
3rd year disappointment Knowshon Moreno tore his ACL on Sunday, only minutes after Willis McGahee exited the game with an injury. McGahee might be back this Thursday, but Lance Ball and Tim Tebow could take a majority of the carries. Ball is worth a pick-up if you are desperate, but does not represent much more than speculative Dynasty value. Knowshon's value went from sliding downhill to tumbling.
Frank Gore missed time on Sunday with ankle and knee issues and subsequently might have his role limited in the coming weeks. Dynasty prospect Kendall Hunter is an ample fill-in if he gets a majority of the carries.
A Darren McFadden injury a few weeks ago opened up the door for Mike Bush to dominate. And he has not disappointed, showing feature back skills that he had back in Louisville before breaking his leg. He's a free agent at the end of the season and there is a good chance he flees for more money and a starting job.
Mike Goodson was seldom used this season and was placed on IR this week with a hamstring injury. He's a gifted prospect but the Panthers will need to unload DeAngelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart before he gets back on the radar.
A.J. Green made a great TD catch on Sunday, but hyperextended his knee in the process. He's headed for gametime decision status this weekend, but should be okay to use once he gets back to health. He's already a Top 10 re-draft option and pushing for even more in Dynasty leagues.
Julio Jones reaggravated his hamstring injury on Sunday and might not play this weekend. He'll be a WR3 when he gets healthy, but hamstrings are tricky as we have seen numerous re-injuries lately. In the meantime, Harry Douglas has asserted himself as nicely in the starting role opposite Roddy White. Douglas still has intriguing long term value.
Doug Baldwin and Sidney Rice both left Sunday's game with mild concussions. Baldwin has been a pleasant surprise and Rice has managed WR3/4 value in a terrible situation. Both should have increased value next season should the Seahawks right their QB situation. If they miss time, underwhelming Golden Tate would get a shot to prove he needs more targets.
With DeSean Jackson deactivated on Sunday, Jeremy Maclin was in line for a huge game. Not so, as he battled shoulder and hamstring issues. He might not miss more than a week or so, and when he comes back should still be the Eagles go to receiver. DeSean is just too inconsistent for fantasy purposes and represents more of a WR2/3 despite unbelievable speed and playmaking skills. Maclin is not there yet, but has WR1 upside.
Leonard Hankerson was inserted into the Redskins starting lineup two weeks ago and he responded with his first 100 yard game on Sunday. Unfortunately, he also injured his hip and landed on IR. It took him 7 weeks to see the field, but Hankerson has big time ability and upside. He's a definite hold or buy in your Dynasty league as he could be the starter opposite Santana Moss Week 1 next year.
Jacoby Ford might be the Raiders most consistent threat, but he cannot seem to keep himself on the field this season. He left Thursday's action early with a foot sprain and might miss a few weeks. Carson Palmer turned to rookie playmaker Denarius Moore once again, as he put on a show with 5 catches, 123 yards and two TD's. He has been getting hype since the summer and he's flashing very legit ability. One to watch for the remainder of this year and heading into 2012, value arrow pointing up. Darrius Heyward-Bey has fallen out of favor after a productive 4 week stint. If you can get him on the cheap, he's not a terrible add, but just be aware he has two more talented threats in front of him.
