Week 15 Review: 200 Club
After a pedestrian few weeks, Calvin Johnson came to play Week 15. After a pedestrian NFL career, Reggie Bush has come to play this season. Both players finished with over 200 yards receiving and rushing respectively on Sunday, lifting many an owner into the championship round of their fantasy leagues. There are more games to be played as the season winds down, but let's delve into more Week 15 action that caught our eye.Matthew Stafford just needed to stay healthy. Top 5 Dynasty QB despite the injury concerns.
Philip Rivers is starting to round into form. Offseason buy low if someone is selling.
Drew Brees and Tony Romo continue their impressive fantasy points barrages.
Josh Freeman continues his 3rd year struggles. Perhaps we expected too much after his Beastly 2011 season, but his upside is still sky high.
The Tim Tebow debate rages on. For now consider him a risky QB2 in Dynasty because of his questionable hold on the Broncos job longterm, but when he plays, he continues to put up fantasy points.
Carson Palmer's garbage time passing has masked some shaky performances. It will be interesting to see what he can do with a training camp and full compliment of weapons at his disposal.
Joe Flacco and Mark Sanchez continue to have up and down fantasy seasons. They both look like longterm fantasy QB2's, but Flacco does still have elite upside.
Felix Jones contines to impress in short spurts and then get hurt. Don't expect that to change much, but the more gifted Demarco Murray has some injury questions of his own to answer moving forward.
Peyton Hillis was running like it was 2010 on Sunday. He needs a strong finish to help his wallet this offseason.
Donald Brown showed pretty much nothing for three seasons, but looks very solid this season, especially lately. He's made Joseph Addai irrelevant and rookie Delone Carter has also taken a back seat to the former 1st round pick. His Dynasty value is still very questionable but his play has been encouraging. Worth a gamble, just don't pay for his 2011 performance just yet.
Lesean McCoy rattled off another 3 TD's on Sunday, giving him 20 total on the season. He is working his way towards the top of the RB Dynasty rankings.
Roy Helu slowed down last week against the Giants, but is still getting featured back carries. He still looks like more of a big play, high upside RB2, but you have to be happy if you took him in the middle of your rookie draft.
Mike Bush continues to look like a featured back. It look a while for him to finally get his due respect, and while not nearly as dynamic as Darren McFadden, he is more reliable. He should find himself as a starting RB in a different uniform next season.
Darrius Heyward-Bey continues his enigmatic season. Fair question, though, who would you rather have in a Dynasty...him or Mike Crabtree? It's closer than you think.
Roddy White turned in his best fantasy performance of the season last week. Julio Jones upside makes him a more valuable Dynasty property, but there are plenty of balls to go around in Atlanta.
Wes Welker has always been a PPR dream, but his Top 5 performance so far this season boosts his short term stock.
Randall Cobb is going to be a high scoring fantasy asset. Maybe not next year, but when he gets his chance, look out...
Lance Moore is a classic FLEX player, continuing to show a solid rapport with Drew Brees.
AJ Green is going to do some things in this league. A full breakout in 2012 is definitely possible.
Vernon Davis has gotten passed by some younger, more dynamic tight ends, but he's still a very valuable TE1. Underrated value right now.
While not a true TE by any sense, Aaron Hernandez is listed as one for fantasy purposes. If it was not for Rob Gronkowski's assault on the record books, we'd hear more about him. He's a definite TE1 in Dynasty leagues.
Jermichael Finley has had a case of the drops lately and even though he'll be dropping in our TE rankings, he still has huge potential and is just 24 years old.
Brent Celek had an offensive explosion on Sunday. While he is still a TE2, it's a good sign. Perhaps next season, he'll have an opportunity to jump back into TE1 contention.
Good luck in the playoffs!
