Carson Palmer is back on the radar. Months after Carson took his ball and went home, he was traded to the Raiders for a 2012 1st rounder and a conditional 1st in 2013. This is a solid landing spot for Palmer, and a killing for the Bengals. He was regressing badly, but if he can get his arm strength back, he'll definitely be in the QB2 mix for the rest of the season. He has a number of solid weapons at his disposal and could revive his career in Oakland.
Before the Palmer trade, the big move was the Rams as they reunited offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels with 2010 wonderkid Brandon Lloyd. He gets a nice bump in fantasy value for the rest of the season, as does buy low prospect Sam Bradford. The Rams have been searching for a true go-to WR and Lloyd just may fill that void. It won't be Mike Sims-Walker, who was cut to make room for Lloyd. He lands back in Jacksonville, which will give Blaine Gabbert another solid, yet unspectacular weapon to throw to.
It was only a matter of time before Rex Grossman got benched, but we didn't think he'd last almost 6 full weeks. After 4 INT's on Sunday, he was pulled for John Beck, a similarly underwhelming talent. No need to adjust the values of anyone on the Redskins just yet. Plus, Shanahan is at it again with his running backs. This situation is a fantasy headache at every angle, with the slight exception of Santana Moss and Fred Davis.
The former Redskin Donovan McNabb is about to ride off into the sunset. He was benched Sunday for Christian Ponder. The rookie has a solid skillset and while he struggled over the summer, could be a decent QB2/3 option if you are in a bind. Dynasty leagues have already taken notice obviously, but it will be good to see him in action.
Ahmad Bradshaw scored a hat trick on Sunday with over 100 yards rushing as he continues to ride the RB1/2 line. Don't go overboard, though, because Brandon Jacobs should be back in Week 8 and he'll eat into Bradshaw's work just enough to be annoying. Consider Bradshaw a solid RB2 for the rest of the year.
Fred Jackson continues to crush it. So much so that CJ Spiller has been working exclusively as a wideout. If you are in a Dynasty league and in the running for the playoffs, make a move for Jackson. If you are rebuilding, unload him now for optimum value. At 30 years old, his shelf life is limited. Spiller is a player that you might want to take a chance on, but do not give up much as the bust potential is too high.
Earnest Graham took it back to 2007 on Sunday. He replaced the injured LeGarrette Blount and ran for 109 yards against the Saints. Dynasty value is extremely limited, but he might help for a couple more weeks. Blount's Dynasty value is hovering around an RB3 until he can show more this year.
Jahvid Best suffered a concussion on Sunday. He's explosive in the open field, but is injury-prone and not very effective between the tackles. RB2 is his upside, but he's a risky long term prospect.
Devin Hester had a monster performance with 5 catches for 91 yards and a TD. Plus, he returned yet another kickoff 101 yards for a TD. He is explosive, but remains a very deep option only. Johnny Knox continues to be criminally underutilized.
Brandon Marshall was blanketed by Darrelle Revis most of the night but that didn't seem to bother Matt Moore. He forced the ball towards Marshall numerous times with mixed results. Brandon ended up with 6 for 109, Revis with 2 INT's, one that went for a 100 yard return TD. Expect Marshall to continue to be a WR2 for this season and if he could come down with a couple more of those redzone targets, he might even sneak into WR1 territory.
Arrelious Benn continues to flash his skills less than a year after tearing his ACL. Buy him if you can because he could be in line for a breakout next season. Mike Williams continues to struggle and will need a strong 2nd half to hold as a long term WR2. Preston Parker does not have the upside of their starter, but he can make plays when his number is called. He should be a decent if inconsistent option in the slot.
Danario Alexander found himself in the starting lineup and he responded with 6 catches for 91 yards. With Brandon Lloyd on board, he's not likely to get as many looks, but he's a solid prospect. Injury prone for sure, but solid. Rookie Greg Salas had his best game as a pro with 8 catches for 77 yards after a disappointing start to the season. He remains an intriguing long-term prospect.
Michael Crabtree looked solid on Sunday with 9 catches for 77 yards. He still has upside as a possession receiver in the long term. You might not be able to buy him because his owners have been waiting over 2 years for a glimpse of hope. If you can, though, try to pick him up on the cheap.
Jimmy Graham keeps rolling. 4 straight 100 yard games.
Jermichael Finley continues to be a victim of Aaron Rodgers exceptional skill to spread the ball around. He has elite upside and makes for an excellent buy low.
After a breakout 2009 campaign, Dynasty hopes were high for Brent Celek. He's done nothing short of disappoint since then and despite his solid 4 catch, 42 yard, 1 TD outing Sunday, don't expect much more than TE2 value at best.
Week 7 is just around the corner, good luck!
